Australian Partner Visa

It is important that the applicant and their Australian fiancée get married within the 9 months duration as this type of visa is only valid for that period. The foreign spouse of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen is eligible to apply for a temporary or permanent spouse visa to be able to enter, live and seek employment in Australia.

You may be granted a permanent visa directly without going through the temporary spouse visa if you can show proof that:

  • You have been married to your Australian spouse for more than 5 years;
  • You have children with your Australian spouse and have been together for at least 2 years;
  • Your spouse is a holder of a Protection visa or permanent visa;

For Thai nationals to qualify for an Australian Tourist Visa from Thailand, one must be able to show proof of intent to have a temporary stay in Australia. The applicant should also be able to show proof of financial capability to support themselves on their trip to Australia. One should also be able to provide evidence of good health and character requirements. Also, the applicant should have enough ties to the home country showing that he or she will return after the trip – this can be done in the form of: ongoing employment, dependents, assets and properties ink the home country. The applicant should also be able to show his or her travel and immigration history.

Tourism covered by this visa category includes holidays, recreation and meeting up with friends and family. Business intent includes attending conferences, negotiations or any business exploration visits. Seeking employment under this visa category is strictly prohibited.
